Oakoak. Making the everyday ordinary, extraordinary.

As a big Banksy fan I found it refreshing to find a new street artist with fresh ideas for the streets and Oakoak is no exception!

Oakoak is a French street art sensation from St. Etienne who finds a way of adding a huge creative touch without intervening too much with the urban elements around him.

Oakoak finds his inspiration through all the things most people would overlook, for example cracks in the wall, drain covers, hand rails or street signage! Oakoak’s style proves you don’t need a degree in fine art to create something original just a creative mind and a good eye!

Oakoak also adds a geeky retro touch to some of his pieces by involving some of his favourite characters from old comics and computer games or iconic pieces of art and technology such as Sonic The Hedgehog, Street Fighter, Edvard Munch’s The Scream and the Apple iPod to name a few.

Below are some of my favourite pieces that have been spotted but there are many more on his website.
